Robert Cannon

Robert Cannon, an " old timer" of Crosby County, was claimed by death Wednesday, July 27. He was 71.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 29, in First Baptist Church of Spur.

Mr. Cannon was born May 26, 1906, in Afton. At age 10 he moved to Crosby County, where he resided on White River until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Johnnye Cannon; two sons, Henry Cannon and Leroy Cannon, both of Spur; a daughter, Robbie Jester of Levelland; four grandchildren, Trey, Tracy, Christy and Chuck; two brothers, C.W. Cannon of Dickens and Ross Cannon of Wilcox, Arizona; one sister, Mrs. Grace McLaren of Seminole; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Burial was made in Spur Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were: Glen Jones, Darl Walker, Bill Carlisle, Lee Kidd, Bill Fry, and Elmer McCombs.
