U.S.Flag   Services for William Cecil Caplinger, 80, of Spur were Friday, December 19, 1997 at the First Baptist Church in Spur. Revs. Tommy Henderson and Richard Harbison officiated. Burial was in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

Mr. Caplinger died Wednesday, December 17, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.

Mr. Caplinger was born December 26, 1916 in McKinney, Texas. He lived most of his life in Spur and was a 1936 graduate of Spur High School. He married Ruth Turpen July 4, 1937 in Spur. He was a farmer and a World War II Veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Caplinger, Spur; two brothers, Ray Caplinger, Idalou; Ernest Caplinger, Lubbock.
