Virgil Parks Died After Long Illness

Virgil Parks, 20 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Parks, of the Highway community, died at his home there Wednesday morning, March 15, at 4:30. He had suffered a recent severe attack of pneumonia and several days ago suffered a relapse which resulted in his death.

Virgil was born in Hayes county, January 6, 1913, but moved with his family to this vicinity at an early age and practically has been reared here. He and his family who are among the most substantial of the county, have a multitude of friends who are grieved at the unwarranted passing of this young man who had just reached the period of usefulness.

Funeral services were held at Spur cemetery, conducted by Rev. Whitlock, pastor of the local Pentecost Church.

Survivors are his parents, three sisters, Mrs. Grace McMeans, Mrs. Beryl Bilbrey, and Miss Bernice Parks; five brothers, A.R., Gordon, D.L., Martin, and Billie, all of this county.
