J. H. Parnell, who recently moved with his family into our settlement of Gilpin, died at his home Monday night, and his body was laid to rest in the Spur Cemetery Tuesday evening. Rev. McMahan, of Spur, conducted the funeral services. We join the many friends of the deceased in offering our sympathy to the bereaved family, and while we mourn his loss, we do not mourn as one without hope for he was agood christian man. He leaves a wife and six children desolate.
