Services for Jonah Taylor, 76, Spur, were held Monday in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Genoa Goad, pastor, officiating.Taylor died May 7 in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, following a lengthy illness. Born in Spur on April 23, 1912, he had been a resident of Kent County since 1942. He was a farmer.
He married Nina Catherine Webb on November 27, 1935, in Brownfield. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Taylor, Spur; two daughters, Alfrieda Greer, Spur and Valene Schmidt, Weatherford; six brothers, Jack Taylor, Post; Amos Taylor, Morton; Don Taylor, Seagraves; Sam Taylor, Redding, Iowa; George Taylor, Girard and Ford Taylor, Spur; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell's Funeral Home.
