Guy Teague, Grid Star, Dies Here of Blood Poisoning

Guy Teague, star player on the Spur Bulldog Football Squad was laid to rest Sunday amid a profession of flowers, his bier surrounded by schoolmates and comrades and his pallbearers members of the squad.

Guy's death, one of those inevitable tragedies that inflict the human race, was caused by a mere scratch which he himself did not know the origin, but which developed blood poisoning and rapidly became more severe until his attendants carried him to the local sanitarium where Dr. Nichols and the special nurses, Mrs. Rumpus did everything known to medical science but all to no avail, also Coach and Mrs. Wadreck and the entire football squad were ever ready to render assistance.

Guy Oneal Teague, second and youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Teague, of the Highway community was born February 2nd, 1916 being 16 years, eight months and 12 days old at the time of his death, which occurred Sunday morning at about 5:00 o'clock.

Funeral services were held at the Spur cemetery Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. F.M. Ewton, pastor of the Spur Baptist Church officiating.

His parents Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Teague, one brother and five sisters survive.
