Funeral services for Calvin Newton Ticer, 68, will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. Rev. Norris Taylor will officiate, assisted by Rev. John Jenkins, Lorenzo.Mr. Ticer died at his home north of Spur about 11 a.m. Tuesday morning. He had farming interests here.
He was a member of the Baptist Church and had been a resident of Spur since 1946.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Annie Newson, Lubbock; three sons, Calvin P. Ticer, Parker, Arizona; Tommie Ticer, Lovington, NM; and Sgt. Johnnie Ticer, U.S. Army, in Vietnam; one step daughter, Ima Jean Zimmerman, Dover, Del.; three step sons, Robert Bradshaw, Spur; Doyle Bradshaw, Brownfield, and Don Bradshaw, Abilene; three sisters, Mrs. Jane Johnson, Lubbock; Mrs. Mattie Dungan, Brownfield; and Mrs. Evelyn Dungan, Saguse, CA; 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be A.V. Hoover, Hardy Dement, J.W. Pickens, Bob Blackshear, R.J. Bell, Dalton Lehew, O.L. Kelley and Jimmy Chesney.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery.
