Services for Margaret Waggoner, 90, of Spur were Friday, June 19, 1998 at the First Baptist Church in Spur. Rev. Richard Harbison officiated.

Burial was in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Waggoner died Tuesday, June 16, 1998, at a Lubbock hospital. She was born Jan. 20, 1908, in Gentry County, Mo. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from West Texas State University in canyon. She taught school in Girard and Spur until retiring in 1975 after 41 years of service.

She married J.W. "Buck" Waggoner in 1931. He preceded her in death in 1960. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Spur for over 50 years.

Survivors include her children, Marlene and Billy Cumbie of Columbia, Mo., and Linda and Eddie Armstrong of Graham; one sister, Villia Porter of Dalhart; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
