Services for Olney Walker, 80, of Spur, were at 11 a.m. March 4, 1991 in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Genoa Goad, pastor, officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Norris Taylor, Idalou, former Spur pastor.Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
Walker died about 12:50 A.M. March 2 in the Heritage Home, Plainview, following a lengthy illness. He was born May 30, 1910 in Cross Plains. He had been a resident of Dickens County most of his life.
He married Cecille Vivian Duncan on January 27, 1927 in Dickens. She died May 15, 1988.
He worked for 26 years for Dickens Electric Cooperative. He retired in 1972. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Dickens County Sheriff's Posse.
Survivors include one son, Walton Walker, Cordova, TN three brothers, Eldon Walker, Plainview; Elbert Walker, Jayton and Lloyd Walker, Abilene; a sister, Aleta Moore, Abilene; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
