Burnice Watson

Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church for Burnice Watson, 76. Church Pastor, Rev. Norris Taylor officiated, assisted by Rev. Archie Echols pastor of the First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Watson died Thursday, December 20, in Highland Hospital, Lubbock.

Born in Leon County, he had resided in Dickens County since 1916. He was a retired farmer. He married Ivy Mae Frazier in 1923 in Dickens County.

Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Kee, Hommonton, NJ; six sons, Austin and Lester, Spur; Burnice Hale and Will both of Odessa; Otis Neal of Alvin and Kenneth S. of Asunzion, Paraguay; two brothers, Arner and Floy of Spur; two sisters, Mrs. Chap Reese, Spur and Mrs. Ben Boland, Jayton; 24 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Grandsons served as pallbearers. Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
