Laverne Watson

Services for Laverne Watson, 84, were held Saturday, January 10 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Spur. Church pastor, Dr. Genoa Goad, officiated.

Mrs. Watson died at her home in Spur on Monday, January 5. Death was ruled due to natural causes. She was born November 2, 1902 in Brown County. She married Frank Watson in Brownwood on February 21, 1926. He died in January of 1980. She had been a resident of Dickens County most of her life. A member of the Baptist Church, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy Watson, Post; a daughter, Sandra Neaves, Copperas Cove; one brother, Oliver Sowell, Brownwood and three sisters, Barbara Wooten, Mineral Wells and Anna Cooper and Pauline Bates, both of Spring Branch. Two grandchildren also survive.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
