Funeral services were held Monday at 4 p.m. in the First Methodist Church for Mrs. Talitha Haddon Watson, 94. She died Sunday morning in Spur Memorial Hospital.Rev. Clarence Stephens officiated.
A resident of Dickens County since 1922, Mrs. Watson was known to many as "Mrs. Democrat of Dickens County".
She was married to A.W. Watson, in 1890. He died in 1941. Mrs. Watson was Gold Star Mother of the VFW. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Hazel Watson, Spur; four sons, Rev. B.A. Watson, Yoakum; Elzy Watson, Iraan; Joe Watson, Mt. Vernon, Ind.; Frank Watson, Spur; one brother, Rev. E.J. Haddon, Thomas, Okla.; ten grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lawis Lee, John Albin, Bill Gregory, Martin Pope, D.J. Dyess, Horace Hyatt.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery.
