Funeral services were held August 11 at 3 p.m. in the Church of Christ, Spur, for Mrs. Evelyn Vance Watts, 47, Billy Ray McBride, minister of the Dickens Church of Christ officiated, assisted by Rev. Wayne Day, pastor of the Dickens Baptist Church.

Mrs. Watts died suddenly about 7:30 p.m. She had been a life-long resident of Dickens County. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Jearl Watts, Spur; her mother, Mrs. Mary Woodson, Lubbock; three sisters, Bernlee Rutledge, Houston; Johnny Lee, Lindlin, CA; Faye Atkinson, Dickens; three brothers, Eldon and Bernard Mayo, both of Houston and Willis Mayo, Dickens.

Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
