F.C. Whitford, resident of the Highway community, died early Thursday morning after being in bad health for over a period of two years. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Kinney Funeral Home with Rev. Lowrance Baptist pastor at Roaring Springs conducting the services. Interment followed in Spur cemetery with Bill Kinney in charge.

Mr. Whitford has been a resident of Dickens County about a year, moving to Highway from Kent County. He was born in Arkansas, Dec. 10, 1854, but moved to Texas as a young man. He is survived by his wife and several children.
