Services Held Here Tuesday, Feb. 24 For Clarence Williams

Funeral services were held for Clarence Williams Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Spur. Rev. J.V. Bilberry, a pioneer Baptist minister and friend of the family over a period of years officiated.

Clarence Penn Williams was born in Bell County, June 14, 1885, age 56 years, 7 months and 6 days old at the time of death which occurred Sunday, February 22, 1942 at Borger, Texas, due to a heart attack.

Clarence Williams came to Dickens County in 1913. During the time of his residence in Spur he was associated with various meat markets, cafes, and employed as cook on several ranches.

In 1914 he was converted and affiliated with the Soldier Mound Baptist Church. Rev. Bilberry performed the baptismal rites.

Mr. Williams moved form Spur to Dumas and had resided there the past four or five years.

Relatives here to attend the last rites were a brother, Frank Williams of Borger; a sister, Mrs. Roscoe McCombs, of Spur; six nieces, Mrs. Russell Boyd, Mrs. Earl Langham, Mrs. Ollie Hare, all of Borger, Mrs. Dan Pritchett and Misses Mary and Nita McCombs, of Spur.
