Sam Williams

Sam and Lena Williams Last rites were read Saturday afternoon, May 24, at the Spur Church of Christ for Samuel Whit Williams, 79, who died at his home in McAdoo, Friday evening at 7:15 o'clock.

Mr. Williams who was one of the early settlers of Dickens County, having moved here in 1912m was born in Tenn. December 14, 1866 and was married to Lena Campbell in Williamson County, Texas in 1896.

Leonard Dennis, minister of the McAdoo Church of Christ, officiated at the services. Interment was in the Spur Cemetery with Chandler Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were Walter Pullens, Willie McLaughlin, Charlie McLaughlin, Ralph Sherrell, S.E. Boothe and R.C.Edinburgh.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lena Williams of McAdoo, two daughters, Elizabeth Williams of McAdoo and Ella Williams of Wichita Falls. Three sons, Harper S. Williams of San Antonio, Willie Williams of McAdoo, and LeRoy Williams of Spur. Ten grandchildren also survive.
