1. All debris, old flowers, or tree limbs removed from individual plots or graves shall be hauled off and disposed of by those doing the work (owners or their contractors). Fees will be assessed if the Elgin Latin Cemetery Association must clean each gravesite or plot (see fee schedule above). |

The rules outlined herein are established for the benefit and protection of plot owners. Enforcement of these rules will help protect our Cemetery. All lot owners, visitors and contractors performing work within the Cemetery shall be subject to said rules and regulations. Please contact the Association Board if you have any questions or concerns, or to report violations. |

Headstones and Monuments |

1. Headstones and monuments to be placed on gravesite must be manufactured by monument/headstone professionals. 2. To ensure that the monument is installed level and properly shall be the responsibility of the gravesite or plot owner to oversee installation. 3. All information shall be legible and professionally done. 4. No home-made cement, wooden, etc. headstones or monuments will be allowed.

Plot & Gravesite Owner Maintenance Rules |

1. New Gravesite, flowers, wreaths, etc., must be removed by Plot/Gravesite Owners no later than 14 days after service and hauled off of premises. 2. No permanent plantings (shrubs, trees or bushes) may be placed in the cemetery without the permission of the Association. We reserve the right to trim and/or remove any permanent plantings deemed necessary by the Association which have become unsightly or dangerous. 3. The planting of hedges is strictly prohibited. Existing hedges will be removed whenever they become unsightly or encroach upon an adjoining lot or path. 4. The use of glass jars or bottles as receptacles for cut flowers is strictly prohibited. 5. Urns shall be permitted only if properly installed and maintained. (Next to headstone – not in front or in back) 6. Discolored, flowers, wreaths, etc., must be removed from existing plots by owners/relatives and hauled off the premises. The Elgin Latin Cemetery will charge fees for removal and discarding of old flowers, wreaths, etc. , when floral arrangements no longer appear respectful to cemetery grounds. 7. Benches of granite material shall be allowed to be donated to the Cemetery for placement in areas which will provide for silent reverie and reflection. Such benches shall be near uniform in appearance and inscriptions shall have the prior approval of the Cemetery Association. No form or type of advertising shall be allowed.

1. It will be the responsibility of plot/gravesite owners or relatives to mow, edge, clean their own plots and/or gravesites. 2. Fees will be charged for plots/gravesites that are not maintained. a. Family Plot $25 (Plot of 4-8) per number of times done annually) b. Single Grave $15 (per number of times done annually) |
