Ellis County Cemeteries
All cemetery volumes have now been updated
. The County Coordinator (on behalf of Ellis County
researchers) thanks Susie Toal and all the dedicated volunteers who worked
very hard to finish this long range project.
Quoting Susie:
We have found one very important thing during this research. There are no
"abandoned" cemeteries if people are buried there. They are classified as
"neglected" cemeteries. It is our hope that the new publications and directions
will be an inspiration to descendants to become involved in the preservation
of many of these "out of the way" cemeteries so that the resting place of
their ancestors will receive the care and dignity they richly deserve. .
