Griffith Switch

Griffith was named for early settler, J. W. Griffith.  It is located on FM Road 2258, on the Johnson County line.  When the International and Great Northern Railroad came through the county and laid a spur track to Griffith in 1903, the name became Griffith Switch.  The community served as a cattle shippiing point.<

Fairview is the name of the school located about one and one-half miles almost due east of Griffith Switch.  It evidently was the school used by the children of Griffith Switch.  I have seen it listed in conjunction with the Griffith community.
