Drusina*, Jose Victor a retired civil service employee and a World War II veteran, died Saturday (May 27, 2000). He was also a piano player who performed many piano concerts in El Paso. He was 79 and a longtime El Paso resident.  Survivors include his daughters, Gloria Bond, Martha Benitez and Esther Hinson; two brothers; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today in Martin Funeral Home-East, with rosary at 7 p.m. A scripture service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery.

 

Alvarado, Angel 63, of El Paso died Tuesday (May 30, 2000). Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today in Hillcrest Funeral Home, with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday in San Jose Catholic Church. Burial will be in Evergreen East Cemetery. Survivors include his wife; his sons, Mike Alvarado, Edwardo Alvarado, Oscar Alvarado, Juan Alvarado and Angel Alvarado Jr.; his daughters, Lina Rodriguez, Norma Fuentes, Carmen Alvarado and Rosa Alvarado; his brothers, Mario Alvarado, Manuel Alvarado and Roberto Alvarado; his sisters, Teresa Bonilla and Isidra Alvarado; and nine grand- children. He operated heavy equipment for the commercial metal industry and was a longtime El Paso resident.

 

Anchondo*, Carlos Paulino 72, of El Paso died Monday (May 29, 2000). Funeral Mass will be at 9:15 a.m. today in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include his brothers, Carlos R. Anchondo, Manuel S. Anchondo, Roberto A. Anchondo and Frank Anchondo; his sisters, Rachael A. Marr and Nancy Espinoza; two uncles; and two aunts. He was retired from the El Paso Independent School District and was Korean War Army veteran. He was a lifelong El Paso resident. Arrangements are by Martin Funeral Home-Central.

 

Callahan*, Donald M. 81, of El Paso died Tuesday (May 30, 2000). A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Callahan; his son, Stephen Callahan; his daughter, Kathleen Floyd; three grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. He was a retired Army colonel and a member of Airstream WBCCI for 30 years. He was a longtime El Paso resident. Memorial contributions may be made to the Circle of Hope Hospice-V.N. Campa, Angela E. 86, of Lompoc, Calif., formerly of El Paso, died Friday (May 26, 2000). Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today in Mt. Franklin Funeral Home, with rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include her daughter, Marta Carbajal; her sisters, Ernestina Alvarez and Bertha Ortega; and her grandson, Alberto Enrique Lucero. She was the owner of Campos Cafe. She lived in Lompoc for five years and in El Paso for 81 years.

 

Dominguez*, Ignacio S. 84,  of El Paso died Monday (May 29, 2000). Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today in Martin Funeral Home-Central, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and the funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Martin. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, G. Alicia; his sons, Fernando Ignacio Dominguez and Hector Arturo Dominguez; his daughters, Aida Alicia Valdez and Martha Jonas; two brothers; three sisters; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was a postal carrier, an Army veteran and a lifelong El Paso resident.

 

Hamrick,  Myrtle Grace 103, of El Paso died Monday (May 29, 2000). A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Evergreen East Cemetery. Survivors include her sons, Richard Bilhartz and Paul Hamrick; her daughter, Virginia Gauthier; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Bentley Hamrick. She was a homemaker and a longtime El Paso resident. Arrangements are by Martin Funeral Home-Central.

 

Johnson, Roy H. "Red" 93,  of El Paso died recently. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens of the Valley. Survivors include his companion, Fran White; his daughters, Barbara Grose and Norma Bolduc; one brother; one sister; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise, and his brother, Rhueben Johnson. He was retired from the Iowa State Highway Commission. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of El Paso.  Larow, Lillian W. 91, of El Paso, formerly of Houston, died Thursday (May 25, 2000). Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston. Memorial service will be at a later date in White Acres Good Samaritan Retirement Village in El Paso. Survivors include her son, John Larow; her grandson, David Larow; and her nephew, Robert Weisz. She was preceded in death by her husband, George V., and her brother, Tibbie Weisz. She was a homemaker and lived in El Paso for six years. Macias,  Maria de Jesus 85, of El Paso died Monday (May 29, 2000). Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. She is survived by many nephews and nieces. She was a housekeeper in a nursing home and a longtime El Paso resident. Arrangements are by El Paso Mission Funeral Home.

 

Miranda, William "Willy" 50, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of El Paso, died Friday (May 26, 2000). Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Martin Funeral Home-Central. Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Evergreen East Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Wyatt; his son, Clayton Wade Miranda; his brother, Michael Miranda; and his sister, Rosine A. Miranda. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Rosine Miranda. He was a slot machine technician in Las Vegas and lived in El Paso for 39 years.

 

Moreno,  Juan 76, of El Paso died Monday (May 29, 2000). Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. today in Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Josefina; his sons, Fernando Spencer and Luis Albert Moreno; his daughter, Martha Moreno; and nine grandchildren. Pierson, Ronnie Lee 49, of El Paso died Sunday (May 28, 2000). Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Rosella, and his sister, Deborah Stanepher. He was a truck driver and an Army veteran. He lived in El Paso for 19 years. Arrangements are by La Paz Funeral Home.

Survivors include her sons, Salvador Souflee, Roberto Souflee Jr. and Arturo Souflee; her daughter, Roxanne Souflee; her brothers, Manuel Gonzalez and Fernando Gonzalez; her sisters, Noemi Vasquez, Arcelia Bernal, Yolanda Porras and Guillermina Oughton; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Paul. She was a homemaker and a longtime El Paso resident.

 

Brown, Richard D. 56, of El Paso died Monday (May 29, 2000). A private memorial service will be Sunday. Survivors include his mother, two sons, one daughter and seven sisters. He was a truck driver. Arrangements are by French Mortuary in Albuquerque.

 

Rogers Sr ,Richard E. "Lobo" 56, of Hendersonville, N.C., formerly of Horizon City, died Wednesday (May 24, 2000). Survivors include his sons, Richard E. Rogers Jr. and Ronald Rogers; his daughter-in-law, Liz Rogers; and his grandsons, Justin Rogers and Jacob Rogers. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Rogers; his mother, Grace McBloom; and his sister, Beverly Scott. He was a carpenter. He lived in Hendersonville for four years and in Horizon City for 40 years. Arrangements are by Shuler & Luck Funeral Home in Hendersonville.

 

Virrueta, Andres infant son of Edgar and Jennifer Virrueta, died Saturday (May 27, 2000). Services will be in Greeley, Colo. Survivors include his parents; his brothers, Jose Virrueta and Daniel Virrueta; his grandfather, Daniel Perez; his grandmothers, Mona Sundown and Gloria Virrueta; two great-grandfathers; three great-grandmothers; one great-great-grandmother; four uncles; two aunts; and many great-uncles and great-aunts. Nelson*, Stanley 82, died Sunday (May 28, 2000). He was a World War II and Korean War veteran.  He was awarded the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters for his service in the Korean War. He also served on the Army Aviation Test Board, becoming its secretary. After retiring from the Army he joined the civil service and became a range controller at White Sands Missile Range. He lived in El Paso for 37 years.  Survivors include his wife, Reba; his son, Craig Nelson; his daughter, Nancy Zehetner; his sister, Lila Delaney; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathon Nelson; two brothers; and two sisters.  Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Trinity-First Methodist Church. Celada, Ana B. 94, of El Paso and Juárez died Thursday (June 1, 2000). Survivors include his sons, Fernando Lopez, Gilberto Lopez, Hector Lopez and Jose Luis Lopez; his daughter, Maria de Jesus Morales; three brothers; one sister; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Emfinger,  Page Lee 32, of El Paso died Wednesday (May 31, 2000). Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Harvest Christian Center Assembly of God. Burial will be in Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Survivors include his parents, Gregory and Cathy Emfinger; his brother, Chance G. Emfinger; his sister, Shama B. Emfinger; and grandparents Bob Emfinger, Darreli and Harry Weldon, and Dessie Bond Hook. He worked for the El Paso Diablos and was a volunteer for the Red Cross. He lived in El Paso for 10 years. He was 82 and a lifelong El Paso resident. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; his son, Ignacio Tirres Jr.; his daughter, Rita M. Haling,*  Rynart B. 79, of El Paso died Tuesday (May 30, 2000). Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Sunset Funeral Home-Hondo Pass, with rosary at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Blessed Sacrament Church. He retired after 21 years in the Army, was a civil service security guard and was a decorated World War II and Korean War veteran. He lived in El Paso 42 years.

Kitzer,*  Eugene W. 75, of El Paso died Thursday (June 1, 2000). Holguin, Catarina Peña 79, of El Paso, formerly of Fort Stockton, Texas, died Tuesday (May 30, 2000). Kittilsted,*  Theodore “Serg” who was a teacher at Eastwood High School and Del Valle High School and an Army veteran, died Wednesday (May 31, 2000). He was 78 and lived in El Paso for 38 years. He is survived by his wife, Susie, and his daughters, Patrice Rabe and Gwen Craig. A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. today in Gospel Light Baptist Church. Moore, Thurman Udell El Paso county judge for three terms and a first assistant district attorney from 1990-1993, died Sunday (June 4, 2000). He also taught criminal justice courses at the University of Texas at El Paso, served as president of the Regional Council of Governments and was legal counsel to the El Paso Public Service Board. He was 72 and an El Paso resident from 1960 to 1993.  Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean; his son, Mark Moore; his daughters, Susan Mains and Kristi Kelsay; his sister, Jean DeVore; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church in Dickinson, Texas.
