William Riley WELDON lived in Parker County in 1872. I am looking for information on an Comanche Indian raid that took place October 15, 1872. Twenty seven horses were stolen from Mr. WELDON. At the same time, a neighbor John S. ROZELL had 2 cousins killed by the Indians. Mr. Rozell lived 4 miles away in Hood County, Texas. Mr. Welldon wife was named Mary J. WELDON. Maiden name was HUNSECKER.

Looking for any descendants of Jim TRIMBLE and Ola/Bessie SIMPSON who married in Erath County around 1905-1910 and lived in Stephenville at least through the 1940s. I believe they had a child Charles Trimble. Thanks very much.

I am looking for information on the TURNEY family who lived near Purvis during the late 1800's and descendents may still be in the area. The TURNEY family raised my great grandfather Charles Montgomery RODGERS after his mother Mary RODGERS died. His father was George W. RODGERS. I would like to find out how the Turney family was related. I have a theory that Mary's maiden name may have been Turney. She is buried in the Pecan Cemetery and the last name is spelled ROGERS. Any help would be appreciated. I know that Charles RODGERS and Malinda CHILDERS were married in Erath Co.

Looking for information on the William WILKINS (b. 1847) family of Erath co. After William died in 1904, his wife Alisa, (Elisa?) ____ traveled the Erath, Palo Pinto area sewing for families. She lived with her dau. Minnie Mae WILKINS MARQUIS in Strawn, Palo Pinto Co for a time. She was murdered around 1915 at the home of the SINCLAIRS ??? along with the wife and young dau. of the family. Any information on this event, and the WILKINS family, would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for family of Ollie Mabry CHAMBLISS b. 4-25/27-1875 co. ukn, TX. d. 10-14-1951 Paris ( Lamar Co.) TX. parents, Tom Bell CHAMBLISS and Mattie Quillian ( her mother's name may have been SHARP) are all believed to be texans. Also SITCHLER, any spelling. James, b. Knoxville, TN m. Nancy Ann BOWEN, BOWERS, or HEAD, b. TN or MS. Believed to be of Choctaw or Chippewa decent, m. in Knoxville, TN. Her birth may be around 1840. Her maiden name is clouded due to family fighting over landgrant in OK. James/Jim is believed to be Cherokee and did not want govt. in his life and always, discarded their mail as did many others. Most of their children were born in Marion Co. AL and Pittsburg Co. OK, and their grandchildren in Fannin Co. TX. Don't know if grandparents moved with them.
