Hello, Everyone,

The Surfing Committee is pleased to announce Falls County as the August County of the Month. Congratulations to the county coordinator, Kay
Cunningham!

Kay has done a wonderful job finding interesting items for inclusion on the site. She has calling cards, original scanned marriage licenses,
letters, stories from pioneers, African American newspapers, and assorted treasures in "This and That". Please take the time to visit Kay
and the wonderful folks of Falls County here: http://www.rootsweb.com/~txfalls/

Honorable Mentions for August are: Frio, Gaines, Hardeman, Harris, Panola, and Sutton. Congratulations to those coordinators as well.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Labor Day weekend.

Peggy T.
Surfing Committee Chair

Oh my goodness, let me pick myself up off the floor.  I am for the first time in my life I believe at a loss for words.

I would certainly like to express my sincerest appreciation.  I have never considered the Falls County site to be 'my site'.  I feel it belongs to everyone that has or had family in Falls County. I have so many wonderful people that are so willing to share their info.

I am very proud to be a part of such a wonderful organization, and on behalf of everyone involved with Falls County I accept this award on their behalf.

I also would like to say congrats to the Honorable Mentions, Frio, Gaines, Hardeman, Harris, Panola, and Sutton.  You have some great sites to be very proud of.

Thank you very much again!

Kay Cunningham
