     My grandfather was John Wilson Givens.  He was in the Spanish American War & was from Lott, Falls County, Texas at the time he went to war. When he was 22 years old he was mobilized at Camp Hawley, Galveston, Texas, A.D. 1898.  Private John Wilson Givens was a member of the First Regiment of the U. S. Volunteer Infantry.  He was in Company H of Houston, Texas.  He was a farmer from Lott, Falls County, Texas at the time he was mobilized.

     His father was David C. Givens of Lott, Falls County, Texas.
