DORA MAE MILLER
Dora Mae Miller, 84, of Waco, passed away Friday, Jan. 13,
2006 at a local nursing facility. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday,
Jan. 17 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco. Visitation will
be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at the funeral home. Mrs. Miller was born
on Oct. 1, 1921 in Marlin, to Joseph Francis and Verdie Wright Hardcastle. She
was married to William H. "Bill" Miller on March 4, 1938 in
Bruceville. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, crocheting and quilting. She cared
for her 10 children and many others in her home, and she was a member of Cego
Baptist Church before moving to Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was preceded in
death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, William H. "Bill"
Miller; daughters, Carolyn Janet Miller and Barbara O'Neal; sister, Jewel
Hardcastle; grandson, Jason Harley Rucker; and great-granddaughter, Kristin
Woodard. She is survived by her sons, Harley Miller of Waco, William Miller and
wife, Kathy of Columbus, Ohio, Billy Miller of Lorena, Donnie Miller and wife,
Nancy of Chalk Bluff and Eddie Miller of Waco; daughters, Vivian Niles and
husband, Jerry of Elm Mott, Tomi Burgin and husband, Jimmy of Lorena and
Donnell Dixon and husband, Ronnie of Hallsburg; brother, Johnny Hardcastle;
sisters, Melba Johnson and Bobbie Hopkins; brother-in-law Alfred Ledbetter; 23
grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; as
well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A special thanks
from the family goes to the staff at Regent Care of Woodway and Vista Care
Hospice.
