West Phelps'
Burial at Cego

 

     EDDY--Funeral services for West Walker Phelps, 80, of Cego, were held Thursday at Cego Baptist Church. Rev. Royce Cooper officiated. Burial was in Cego Cemetery. Mr. Phelps died Wednesday in a Rosebud convalescent home.

 

     Mr. Phelps was born in Tennessee and came to Texas in 1901. He settled in the Cego community and had resided there ever since. He married Ada Wiggins in 1905. He was a retired farmer.

 

     Survivors include: his wife; two sons, M. A. Phelps of Waco and B. B. Phelps of Eddy; three daughters, Mrs. C. Q. Spivey and Mrs Woody Painter, both of Waco, and Mrs. Conrad Behnke of Cego; one sister, Mrs. Leona Bailey of Fort Worth; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

 

Note: West Walker Phelps obit refers to him as West Walker Phelps, but his grave marker lists him as Walker Phelps and in his son's obit, he is listed as Walker W. Phelps. -rlh
