DEATH CLAIMS CEGO MAN
R. L. SHOTWELL HAD LIVED
IN FALLS COUNTY
OVER THIRTY
YEARS.
The death of R. L. (Lee) Shotwell, aged 54 years, occurred at
his home in the Cego community about seven o'clock this morning, following an
extended illness.
Deceased came to Texas 34 years ago, locating in Falls county
and had since resided in the Mooreville and Cego sections where he was engaged
in farming. He enjoyed a wide acquaintance and was held in high esteem by his
many friends, being a member of the Baptist church and the Odd Fellows lodge.
Surviving deceased are his wife, two married daughters, Mrs.
Dr. J. E. Martin of Cego and Mrs. Clarence Diamond of Marlin, who was called
home several days ago by her father's illness; also several children who live
at home, and two brothers, W. P. Shotwell of Cego and Jesse Shotwell of
Houston; also a half-sister, Mrs. S. A. Purgeson of Mooreville, and a
half-brother, F. K. Smith of Rogers.
