Instant Death Resulted When Well

                       Known Cego Man Was Struck

 

     Struck by lightning, Preston Turner met instant death while chopping cotton on his farm in the Cego community about five o’clock Thursday afternoon. Two sons of the unfortunate man were at work nearby when the tragedy occurred. A severe electrical storm was prevailing at the time.

 

     Surviving deceased are a wife and five children. Deceased is a brother of F. J. Turner of Marlin, Falls County tax collector, and was well known in the community where he resided, having been in Texas some 25 years since coming to this state from Arkansas.

 

     The funeral was held at five o’clock this afternoon at Beulah, a cemetery north of Eddy.
