Mrs. Whitaker
Dies; Pioneer
Waco Resident
Mrs. G. D. Whitaker, 94, died early Friday at her home at 2821 Morrow.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Wilkirson and Hatch
Chapel, Rev. Mack Stirman officiating. Burial will be in Cego Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitaker was a native of Hollandville, Ga., daughter of the late
John Cecil Pryor and Alice Pryor. She came to Texas in 1898 and married George
David Whitaker in 1899. Mr. Whitaker died in 1961.
Mrs. Whitaker is survived by five daughters, Mrs. W. G. Holley of 1223
La Vega, Mrs. Virgil Keeling of 501 Hogan, Mrs. R. A. Blaylock of 2821 Morrow,
Mrs. P. F. Baxley of Fort Worth and Mrs. Mack Stirman of Leakey; three sons,
Charles C. Whitaker and Carter Whitaker, both of Chilton, and Carl Whitaker of
Garland; a brother, Billl Pryor of Macon, Ga.; 22 grandchildren; 56
great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
