MRS. H.B. BARNETT - WHITEWRIGHT - Mrs. H.B. Barnett, 81, charter member of the Marvin Methodist church, died at her home in the Enterprise community east of here at 1:30 a.m. Thursday after a short illness. Funeral services are to be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Marvin church, conducted by the Rev. M.E. Miller and the Rev. G.C. Randolph of Ector. Earnheart will direct internment in Oak Hill cemetery,grandsons will be pallbearers and granddaughters will handle flowers. // Mrs. Barnett was born as Eliza Jane Smith in Tennessee Aug. 16, 1858, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith. She came to Texas 60 years ago. After her first husband died, she married Mr. Barnett, March 14,
1920. // Surviving are her husband; two sons, Ben Blanton of Denison and Hubert Blanton of San Antonio; two daughters, Mrs. Charley Layman of Whitewright and Mrs. Grace McLean of Albuquerque, N.M.; three step-sons, Tom Blanton of Whitewright, Foster Blanton of Sherman and J.B. Blanton of Sabinal; three brothers, M.R. Smith and Lon Smith of Whitewright and Charley Smith of Denison; 46 grandchildren and .............. (Researcher’s note: Eliza Jane Smith Thomas Jefferson Blanton on 7-27-1882 in Fannin County, TX. T.J. Blanton died in 1912.
