 Bellows Family Bible

"The front flypage of this bible contains the children of John Bellis/Bellows and his wife Margaret Brown. John and Margaret were married in Callaway Co. KY 25 May 1837 according to records there. Notice that the spelling of the first family is Bellis just as it was John's father William's will in Paris, Bourbon Co. KY. Margaret's death is listed. She is buried in New Bloomfield, Callaway Co. MO. 
I have photographed her tombstone. Charles Hamilton Bellis/Bellows settled in Fannin Co. on land north of Ector now occupied by several of his decendants. Appleton Allen lived and died in Collin Co., TX. Charles and Appleton both served the Confederacy on the Cherokee Regiment (Special Services.) Company M."

The front of the bible contains:

John William born the year of our Lord July 11, 1839

Robert Clarke born in the year of our lord September 19, 1841

Charles Hamilton born in the year of our Lord March the 19, 1844

Appelton A. Bellis born July 12, 1847

Margaret died November 19, 1849

Margaret Ann Bellows born March 11, 1859 (different handwriting)
