Ora Lee Blanton, age 85, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, in a Greenville, Texas hospital.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 17 at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel in
Vernon with Reverend Nancy Moore officiating. She was buried in Eastview Cemetery
under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.  Mrs. Blanton was born July 10, 1914 in
Thalia, a daughter of the late James Claude and Vinetta Culver Davis. She married Bert
Frank Blanton on February 9, 1940, in Vernon.  A graduate of Five In One High School,
she had retired from Wilbarger General Hospital and had previously worked at
Montgomery Ward. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, and Eastern
Star. She is survived by a daughter, Nan Beth Shultz, wife of Roy Martin Shultz, of
Greenville, Texas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren

JOHN CHARLES BLANTON - Sherman - Graveside services for John Charles Blanton,
71, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He died
Saturday, August 3, 2002 in Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham.  // Surviving are his
wife, Mary Blanton of Sherman; daughters, Mary Ann Whitson of Plano, Janis Blanton of
Bartlesville, Oklahoma; son John Charles "Charlie" Blanton Jr. of Keller; brother, J.M.
Blanton of Hurst, Texas.  // Memorials may be made to A.L.S. Foundation.  //
Arrangements are under the direction of Taylor Funeral Home in Leonard.  (John Charles
Blanton was the son of Charles Henry Blanton and Mattie Fredonia Aldridge.)

LOIS BLANTON - Leonard - Graveside services for Lois Blanton, 99, will be held at 11
A.m. Monday in Leonard Cemetery with Charles Wrenn officiating.  He died Friday, November 15, 2002 in Leonard Nursing Home.  // Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m.
Monday.  // Surviving are his sister, Juanita Hancock of Leonard; several nieces and
nephews.

LOIS BLANTON - Lois Blanton was born on July 18, 1903.  He has three brothers and
three sisters.  He is the son of the late Charley and Mattie Blanton of Leonard.  One
sister, Juanita Hancock, survives him.  On Dec. 20, 1924, he married Eva Mullins, who
preceded him in death.  // He enjoyed farming cotton and corn.  He lived all his life in the
house his father built, close to his birthplace, near Blanton's Chapel (founded by his
grandfather, Benjamin Blanton.)  When he was no longer able to care for himself, he
moved into the nursing home.  // He often talked about all the changes he had seen.  He
lived when the land was mostly timber.  Going to the moon wasn't even a dream to
becoming a reality.  He talked about riding in buggies, buying his first Model-T and
haircuts costing 25 cents.  // Lois was everybody's uncle.  He once said, "To be a
Blanton you have to love horses and dogs."  He loved people.  He had a great sense of
humor and was kind to everyone.  He died on Friday, Nov. 15, 2002.  Numerous nieces
and nephews, spanning many generations, survive him.

T.W. BLANTON - Bonham - Memorial services for T.W. "Pete" Blanton of Bonham,
50-year-old retired machinist who died Thursday in Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman
were held Saturday in Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel.  // Larry Harris officiated. //
Mr. Blanton was born in Ravenna, the son of Robert Elee Blanton and Ruby Ruth Lackey
Blanton and married Doris Gale Schrader on Oct. 18, 1974 in Durant, Okla.  //Surviving
are his daughters, Randa Jester and Rhonda Swanson, both of Plano; son Marty Lee of
Ivanoe; mother of Bonham; sisters, Nell Daniels of Ivanhoe, and Robbie Harris of
Bonham; brothers, Jim Blanton and Billy Joe Blanton, both of Carthage; and four
grandchildren.  Memorials may be made to the Fannin Bank in care of T.W. "Pete"
Blanton.

ZORA L. BULLARD - Savoy - Services for Zora Loitia (sic) Bullard of Savoy, 95-year-old
retired schoolteacher who died Saturday in a Savoy nursing home will be held at 10:30
a.m. Monday in Mullican-Little Funeral Home Chapel.  // Rev. James Seigler will officiate,
and burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery. // Mrs. Bullard was born in Grayson County, the
daughter of Daniel Feagan and Mary Ann Feagan and married James Bullard on Jan. 15,
1916, in Tom Bean.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Savoy and a
graduate of East Texas Normal College (now East Texas State University). // Surviving
are her son, Ed Bullard of Sherman; daughter, Paula Winkler of Savoy; seven
grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.  // The family
will be at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today.  (Zora Feagans was the
granddaughter of Steven Fletcher Blanton and Sarah McDaniel.  Her daughter, Paula
Bullard married Alton Winkler. )

MARY E. BLANTON SMITH - Wichita Falls - Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth
Blanton, age 65, of Wichita Falls, formerly of Fannin County, will be held at 1:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 15, 1998 in Wise Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Pike
Cemetery.  Mrs. Smith passed away Thursday, March 12, 1998 in Wichita General
Hospital as a result of injuries received in a pedestrian/auto accident, March 1, 1998.  //
Mrs. Smith was born June 28, 1932 in Leonard, Texas, the daughter of George Edwin
Blanton and Elizabeth Wadford Blanton.  She attended school in Valley Creek and
Leonard.  She was a homemaker and a Baptist.  // Surviving are two sons, Robert Wayne
Smith and wife, Margaret and Ralph Edward Smith all of Wichita Falls; mother, Mrs.
Elizabeth Blanton of Wichita Falls; 2 brothers, Joe Blanton of Tulsa, OK and Ray Blanton
of Seminole, OK; 1 sister, Ruby David of Altus, OK; 5 grandchildren, Michael Wayne
Smith, Jeanann Smith Lindley, Jason Smith, Jeffrey Smith, and Jennifer Smith.  // The
family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 7-8 PM Saturday night.
