GEORGE EDWIN BLANTON - Bonham - George Edwin Blanton, 84, of
Paris, formerly of Fannin County, died Tuesday in a Paris hospital.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Wise Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev.
Preston Manley officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Cemetery. /
Blanton was born Aug. 13, 1905 in Savoy, son of William Franklin Blanton
and Sarah Boone Blanton. He was a retired truck driver and farmer.
Blanton was a Baptist. // Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Wadford Blanton
of Paris, two sons, Ray of Arlington, Joe of Oklahoma City; two daughters,
Mary Russell of Wichita Falls, Ruby Davis of Altus, Okla.; sister, Ivone
Jones of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. // The
family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 Thursday night.

DR. EARLE BLANTON - Graveside services for Dr. Earle B. Blanton, age
76 of Leonard, who died Monday afternoon, Nov. 12, at Northeast Medical
Center, are scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Grove Hill
Cemetery. // Dr. Blanton was born on June 25, 1914, in Blanton Chapel
Community, the son of Charles Henry Blanton and Mattie Aldridge Blanton.
He married Louise Akridge on Aug. 24, 1935. // Dr. Blanton was a
Presbyterian and a retired college professor. He taught Industrial Education
at the University of North TX for 35 years. He also taught in public schools at
Durant, OK, and at Bethel and 3-P. // Survivors include his wife, Louise
Blanton, of Denton; son, James A. Blanton of Denton; three sisters, "Bill"
Christian, Ila Blanton, and Juanita Hancock, all of Leonard; brother, Lois
Blanton; a grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. // Taylor Funeral
Home of Leonard is in charge of arrangements.

IRVING BLANTON - Attica, Kan - Services for Irving B. Blanton, of Attica
formerly of Bells, who died Friday will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday
at Earnhart Funeral Home Chapel in Whitewright. // The Rev. Earnest Walt
will officiate and burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery. // Mr. Blanton
was born in Fannin County, the son of Tom Blanton and Ida Nicely. He
married the former Annie terry on March 27, 1927. He was a retired
maintenance man with the city of Fort Worth. He was a member of the
Methodist church. // He is survived by his brother, Clarence Blanton of
Attica; and sisters, Mrs. Orpha Walt of Bells and Mrs. Berta Ward of
Gainesville.

ETHEL M. BLANTON - Ravenna - Funeral for Ethel Marie Blanton of
Ravenna, who died July 3, 1992, at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman,
will be at 4 p.m. today at Cooper Sorrells Chapel. Rev. Doug Simpson and
Rev. James Rodgers will officiate and burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery at
Ravenna. // Mrs. Blanton was born May 30, 1916, a daughter of James Wylie
Woodruff and Mable Dobson. She married Roscoe J. Blanton on Nov. 25,
193, at Bonham. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Ravenna
Baptist Church. // Survivors include her husband of Ravenna; one daughter,
Nita Marie Brandenberger of Dallas; one brother, Marvin Woodruff of
Dallas; two sisters Pansy Walker of Ravenna and Velma Calhoun of
Sherman; two granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.

KIMBERLY DOPHIED - BELLS - Funeral for Kimberly Dophied, 20 of Bells, who
died Friday in the North Texas Medical Center in McKinney will be at 11 a.m.
Wednesday in the Mullican-Little funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bells
North Cemetery. The Rev. Houston Garner will officiate. // Miss Dophied
was born May 25, 1971, in Denison, daughter of Calvin and Vicky Dophied.
She was employed by CSW Supply in Plano and was a 1989 graduate of Bells
High School. // Miss Dophied was planning to marry Michael Fortner of
McKinney next week. // Surviving are her father and stepmother, Calvin and
Pat Dophied of Bells; mother and step-father, Vicky and James Burchfield of
Savoy; two brothers, Mark Dophied, Craig Dophied; both of Bells; two
stepbrothers, Aaron Wilson, Brian Wilson, both of Wills Point; two
stepsisters, Wanda Tingle of Dallas, Debbie Watson of Denver, Colo; and
grandparents, Odie Blanton of Savoy and Ida Dophied of Sherman. // The
family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 tonight. Researcher's comments:
Kim was the granddaughter of Wright Blanton and Odie Victor Eason Blanton.
Family members state that Kim died from injuries sustained in an automobile
accident that occurred during Kim's trip to pick up her bridal gown. At the
request of her fiancé, Kim was buried in her bridal gown. Although she died
before they were married, relatives state that Mike Fortner believed in his
heart they were married; when Mike purchased Kim's tombstone he had Kim's
name engraved as "Kimberly M. Fortner".
