  J. P. BLANTON - Sherman - J.P. BLANTON, 81, of Denton and formerly of Sherman
died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, at Columbia Plaza Medical  Center in Fort Worth. //
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mulkey-Mason Jack Schmitz and Son
Chapel with the rev. Bobby Bryan and the Rev. Bob Joyce officiating.  Burial will be in
Burns Cemetery in Trenton. // Surviving are his wife, Ethyl Lee (Morris) Blanton of
Denton;  sons, Jack Blanton of Denton and Randy Blanton of Norman, Okla.; sisters,
Christine Walker of Ventura, Calif. and Kugga Doss of Whitewright; and four
grandchildren.  // Memorials may be made to Cooper Creek Baptist Church Building Fund,
Route 5, Box 175A, Denton, Texas 76205.  (Researcher’s note:  J.P. Blanton was son of
Claude M. Blanton and Fannie Ann Hunter.  He was the grandson of William Howell
Blanton and Alice V. Nicholson.)

 ETHYL LEE BLANTON - Denton - Ethyl Lee Blanton, 84, of Denton, died Tuesday, July
9, 2002, at Denton Community Hospital.  She was born Oct. 25, 1917, in Whitewright,
Texas to Issac Sanders and Nora Elizabeth (Miller) Morris.  She attended public schools,
and was a member of the West Sherman Baptist Church in Sherman, Texas.  She married
J.P. Blanton on August 18, 1935 in Whitewright, Texas.  He died September 19, 1997.  //
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2002, at the Burns
Cemetery in Trenton, Texas with the Reverend  Bob Joyce officiating.  Interment will
follow in the Burns Cemetery.  // Mrs. Blanton is survived by two sons, Jack Blanton of
Denton, Texas and Randy Blanton of Norman, Oklahoma; two sisters, Virgie Samborn of
Arizona and Bertha Anderson of Sherman, Texas; four grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.  // Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz & Son Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.   (Researcher's note:  J.P. Blanton  was the son of Claude M. Blanton and
Fannie Ann Hunter.  He was the grandson of William Howell Blanton and Alice V.
Nicholson.)
