The son of Charles and Fannie Burleson,
John was born and spent his early years
in Temple, TX.

He served in the Air Force for 5 yrs.
with two and a half being in the European Theater, and several bases here
at home. He met and married Muriel Champion and they had one child, a daughter
Gayle. He loved the small town atmosphere in Ladonia, and here he raised
cattle, sold insurance, was a broker, and even delivered mail and worked
on occaision at the post office. He served as Deacon in the First Baptist
Church, was a member of the Lyons Club, and Bethel Lodge serving as Worshipful
Master.
