Charlie Fields was born March 11, 1889 in Smith County, Tennessee; died January 29, 1964 in Fannin County, Texas at age 74; interred at Center point Cemetery, Ladonia, Fannin County, Texas.
Married Virgie L. Williams on November 7, 1915.

Charlie Fields, was a football star at Texas Christian University.

Charlie Fields entered TCU in the Fall of 1907 and “made his showing the first year making the Varsity ranks”.  By 1909 he was ranked as one of Texas’ best tackles.  He played on the Varsity at TCU until 1911.  He was a big guy – they called him the “human giant” – weighing in at 190 lbs and 6’ 4”and check out that uniform!
