The John Nixon Emmons family taken about 1922. The family was living
in Honey Grove, Fannin county, Texas at the time. The family had migrated to Texas from McNairy county, Tennessee about 1896-1897.
John Nixon Emmons is the son of James Wesley Emmons, born about 1838 -1840, and Matilda Lucretia Hopkins, born August 20, 1841. The sons are, from left to right, Aaron Dewey (b. 6 Dec 1903), John Roy (b. 2 Sep 1888), Oscar Herbert (b. 5 Mar 1881), Lee Haskell (b. 14 Oct 1884), Thomas Paul (b. 16 Mar 1900). The daughter seated between the parents is Cordelia Mae (Cordie) (19 Aug 1894).
The adults are Laura Alice Springer (b. 7 Dec 1860) and John Nixon Emmons (b. 9 Nov 1861). Paul and Dewey were born in Texas, all others were born in McNairy county, Tennessee.
