MRS. LENA M. HASTEN
   Mrs. Lena Maude Hasten, 69, of 304 Waring, Dayton, died at 8:35 p.m.
Sunday in a Baytown hospital.
   She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. D.G. Garrison of Baytown, Mrs.Burnette Veillion of Ville Platte, La; three sons, Martin H. Hasten of Franklin, La., Niles D. Hasten of Wichita Falls, William H. Hasten of Dayton; two brothers, W.F. Higgins of Tony, Ala., Johnny Higgins of Athens, Ala; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Copeland of Athens, Ala., Mrs. H.B. Parker of Whittaker, Calif.  Fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
   She was a former resident of Baytown and a member of St. John's United
Methodist Church.  She moved to Dayton four years ago.
   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Paul U. Lee Chapel with
Rev. William Commer, pastor of St. John's officiating. Burial will be in Ryan Cemetery near Dayton.
  (researcher's note:  Lena Maude Higgins Hasten married Thomas Niles Hasten on December 28, 1919 in Limestone Co., AL.  He predeceased her. Thomas Niles Hasten was the son of Zachariah Roscoe Hasten Jr. and Mattie Lou Arnett, who are buried in the IOOF Cemetery, Ravenna, Fannin Co., TX.
He was the grandson of Zachariah R. Hasten, Sr. and Anna Eliza Hargrove, who are buried in the Hasting Cemetery, Limestone Co., AL and g-grandson of Ezekiel Hastings and Elizabeth Ann Dunnavant, who are also buried in the Hasting Cemetery, Limestone Co., AL.  In today's world three variant spellings of Hastings surname are used by descendants of Ezekiel Hastings, with the Hasten spelling predominately used by descendants of Zachariah R. Hasten Sr. who mostly live in Texas)

HASTEN
   Lena Marie Hasten, 76, of Baytown, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1995.
   Hasten was born June 9, 1919, in Seminole, Ok. to Roy and Anna Hardin.
She married William H. Hasten on March 16, 1941, and had been a resident of this area since 1951.
   She was preceded in death by her husband William H. Hasten.
  Mrs. Hasten is survived by her son and daughter-in-law James Donald and Sharon Hasten of Pasadena; daughter and son-in-law Jaclynn and Gene Anderson of Baytown; brother Lawrence Hardin of Houston; grandchildren, Nissa
Castillo, Kim Morton, Hulen Hasten, Gena Cummins, Matt Anderson, Mary Anderson, Marie Hasten and Mandy Hasten; and six great-grandchildren.
  Visitation is set for 6-9- p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 1995, at the funeral home.
   Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 1995, at Sterling White Chapel in Baytown.  Rev . Herman Williams will officiate.
  Burial will be at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie.

HASTEN
   Services for William Hulen "Bill" Hasten, Sr., 70, of Baytown will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 1991, at White Chapel Funeral Home of Baytown with the Rev. Charles Kyle of Victory Temple officiating.
   Hasten died Sunday, July 28, in a Houston hospital.
   He had lived in Baytown since 1943.  He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Post 527 of Galveston.
  He was preceded in death by his sons, William H. Hasten Jr. and Thomas
Roy Hasten.
  He is survived by wife, Marie Hasten of Baytown, son, Don Hasten of Port
Lavaca; daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Gene Anderson of Baytown; brothers Harold Hasten of Jeanerette, La., and Niles Hasten of Iowa Park; sisters, Marjorie Veillon of Ville Platte, La. and Barbara Garrison of Rye; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
   A visitation will be held after 3 p.m. Monday, July 29, White Chapel Funeral Home in Baytown.
   Burial will be held at Ryan Cemetery of Tarkington Prairie.
   Services are under the direction of White Chapel Funeral Home in Baytown.
