KATHLEEN S. ISBELL
LANNIUS - Funeral services for Kathleen S. Isbell, 81, of Lannius will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Wise Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Alan Griffin will officiate. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Leonard.
Mrs. Isbell died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1994 at Northeast Medical Center in Bonham.
Mrs. Isbell was born in Leonard, Oct. 20, 1912, the daughter of Oscar Lee Smith and Florence Groves Smith. She was graduate of Eliasville High School and North Texas State University. She married WT. (Thel) Isbell, Dec. 26, 1939 in Eastland, Texas. Mrs. Isbell taught school in Eliasville, Albany, and Breckenridge.
In 1947 she began in Inventory Control for Dunigan tool & Supply in Breckenridge retiring in 1977 from Dunigan tool & Supply in Abilene. She was a member of Desk & Derrick Club of North America and Business and Professional Women's Club in Abilene.
They moved to the Lannius farm in 1982. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, W.T. Isbell of Lannius, two sisters, Letty Moore of Dallas and Lucille Gordon of Fort Worth; and several nieces and nephews.
Research Note: Georgia Kathleen Groves Isbell's maternal grandparents were George Fergus Groves and Mary Elizabeth Blanton. Kathleen's g-grandparents were George Washington Blanton and Rebecca Lavinia Cox. Kathleen gg-grandparents included Fannin County, TX pioneers Josiah Blanton and Lucy Westbrook and Fannin County, TX pioneers Rev. Burwell Cox and Elizabeth Lindsey.
