Bessie May Kearney
Her grave ( In Burn's Cemetery in Trenton, Texas) is not marked and its whereabouts in the cemetery is unknown.Texas Death Certificate #34008 reveals that Bessie died from causes related to premature birth. The certificate was signed by J.J. Anderson,M.D., and the informant was J.A. Kearney of Leonard. The baby's father was William D. Kearney born in Cumberland Co., KY and mother was recorded as Ila F. Blanton born in Fannin Co., TX. The informant reported that the baby was buried the same day she died.
Juanita Blanton Hancock told me in a February
14, 2000 phone conversation that, a few years before Ila
died, that she'd attempted to find her baby's gravesite.
The tree marking the burial spot,was no longer standing
and Ila had no idea where the baby had been buried.
