CHURCH DEED

To: Deed State of Texas
Southern Methodist Church County of FanninKnow all men by these presents that I Daniel Gillett of the County and State aforesaid have this day &. in consideration of the great love & esteem I_ have for the Southern Methodist Church granted released & conveyed unto it all of a certain tract or parcel of land lying &, being Situated & further described as follows Viz.: it being the east part of a piece of Land purchased by me off of 256 9/.l0 acres Surveyed in the name of Wm. Robinson and patented to J. W. Morgan assignee of the M. E. & P. R. R. Co. &. Beginning at a Bois d'Arc Stake, the N. E. corner of 6 0/l0 acres bought by me from William Robinson. Thence W. 97 varas a Stake Thence S. 96 varas a Stake Thence E. 97 varas a Stake the S. E. corner of the aforesaid 6 0/10 acres Thence N. 96 varas to the Beginning Containing in all 9312 Sq. varas, & I do by these present give confer to & convey, together with all the appurtenances thereto belong, to the Sed church through its lawful representatives to have & control, except however, that I reserve the right to burial ground on Sed property & land, myself my heirs & assigns to forever warrant the title to Sed. land to the Sed Church forever against & all persons lawfully claiming the land or any part thereof.

County of Fannin Personally appeared before me, the undersigned authority, a Justice of the Peace in and for the County of Fannin and State of Texas, Daniel Gillett to me well known and party to the above and foregoing instrument of writing bearing date December First AD 1879 and acknowledged that he had signed sealed and delivered the same for the purpose and consideration therein Stated.In Testimony Whereof I hereunto sign my name and apply the impress of My Official Seal at Savoy this the 1st day of December AD 1879.
