Posthumously awarded the Combat Action Badge & Purple Heart 
 

Staff Sgt. Michael Shank, born in Minnesota, was the son of Thomas M. Shank & Jettye Lynn Starr and was Killed in action, November 28, 2006 in Afghanistan when his vehicle ran over a land mine. 
He had been in the military for 11 years and served in Bosnia, Iraq, Germany.

He was married to Brandy Nicole Guffee in Fannin County, April 18,1997 and they have two daughters; Michaela and KateLynn Shank. and he graduated from Dodd City High School in 1994. 

He was buried in Willow Wild, Bonham, Texas
