The Terry brothers from Illinois arrived in Fannin
County in 1842. They settled near Ladona where they established Rehobeth
Ansalem Terry (1800-1877), a native of Virginia, and
wife Rebecca Waggoner Terry (1806 - 1872) bought a farm west of Ladona.
Their children were David (1824 - 1865), William H.
(1825 - 1866), who was married to a Gillispie; Elizabeth (1830 - 1877),
who married K. C. Henslee; Mildred (b. 1825), who married Robert Harrell;
Celia (1826 - 1906), who married William Nail; Jasper (b. 1835), who was
married to Mary Janes; and Sarah (1840 - 1876), who married W. C. Cobb.
Andrew Terry (1802 - 1879) farmed near Rehobeth. His
wife was Margaret Waggoner Terry (1804 - 1890) and their children were
David (b. 1829); S. C.; George; Margaret (b. 1837), who married George
Henslee; William; and John W. (1840 - 1887).
F. Terry (1809 - 1887) moved to Hunt County. He was married first to Phillena
Gillenland of Kentucky who died in the 1840's. His second wife was Catherine
Terry (1821 - 1901). Children of James F. Terry were Mary (1826 - 1887)
who married Daniel Waggoner; Miles (1830 - 1873) ; David, William P. Ansalem,
Rebecca (b. 1836), who married John Nail; and James W. (1840 - 1895).
Robert Terry (1814 - 1881) was married to Lilitha
Floyd (1815 - 1884). Their children were Sarah, who married H. C. Tiller;
Cyrus, who was married to Virginia Waggoner; Hiram (b. 1838), and Mary
E. (b. 1839), who married Frank Chambee and later Arthur McFarland.
