Mrs. Julia L. Vaughan, former resident of the Talty community, died in Dallas early Wednesday, July 13. Mass was said at St. Martin Church at Talty on Friday, with the Rev. Cornelius Scanlon and the Rev. Patrick Scanlon as celebrants, with interment at Oakland Park in Terrell. Julia Vaughan, a daugher of the late Michael Lineham and Julia Dennehy, was born in County Cork, Ireland, on Sept. 5, 1877. She came to the United States as a young girl of eighteen. She moved to the Irish Ridge as a young woman and was a resident there for many years before moving to Dallas. She was married to Jerry Vaughan on Jan. 23, 1904. He preceded her in death and she is survived by: two daughters, Marie Clark of Dallas and Rita Seay of Saudi Arabia, one son Jerry Vaughan, Jr. of Tulsa, Okla. |
