Stephen Kirt Adams, 98, a retired resident of the Talty community, passed away at his home on Friday, March 6, 1987.

Rosary was recited at the Anderson-Clayton Chapel in Terrell at 7 p.m. Sunday with Msgr. Casimir Glogowski as leader. Funeral Mass was held at St. Martin Catholic Church, Talty, at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 1987, with Msgr. Glogowski as celebrant. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery in Terrell.

Stephen Kirt Adams, a son of the late Joseph Leo Adams and Annie Brennan Adams, was born on the Irish Ridge on July 18, 1888. Adams was reared and lived his entire life in the Talty community. He attended school at St. Martin Academy and the Alma school. He later attended St. Edward's University in Austin.

Adams was married to Delia Josephine Maloney in 1914 and to this union five children were born. His wife and one daughter preceded him in death. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Curtis and Johnnie Adams of Mabank; three daughters, Mary Margaret Park of Talty, Patrice Rouvaldt of Talty, and Kitty Schlebach of Talty; one son-in-law, George Schlebach of Talty, 23 grandchildren; a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives.

Stephen Kirt Adams was the last remaining second generation member of the first settlers of the Irish Ridge and Talty community. Adams was a life long Catholic and the oldest member of St. Marthin Catholic Church.

Stephen K. Adams, a Terrell resident, died Friday.

Stephen Kirt Adams, a son of the later [sic] Joseph Leo Adams and Annie Brennan Adams, was born in the Talty community of Kaufman County on July 18, 1888. He was raised and lived in the Talty community all of his life. He attended school at St Martin's Academy and at Alma. He later attended St. Edward's College in Austin.
