Passenger Train Wrecked

Sunday No. 2 east bound passenger was wrecked near Cobbs, a small station about 20 miles east of Forney betwwen Elmo and Wills Point. The wreck was caused by a small bridge giving way, owing to the continued rains in that vicinity. The engine crossed over all right and the passenger coaches, express, and baggage cars were all derailed. General Manager Grant's car which was behind was the only one which did not leave the track. Several
were painfully bruised and the baggage master Mr. Samuels, of Marshall, was killed instantly. It is supposed that he was standing in the door of his car when the sudden jar of the train caused the door to slide to with such terrific force that it crushed his head into. There was a special train which went down Sunday evening to transfer passengers, and to assist in clearing the wreck away.
