| McAdoo, Patrick Lee |
Seagraves - A Celebration of Life for
Patrick Lee McAdoo, age 66 was held Wednesday, 2:00 P.M. January 3, 2006
at the First United Methodist Church in Seagraves. Mr. James Kinnaird
officiated with Rev. Dustin McEwen assisting. Burial will follow at the
Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves. Services are being provided by Mark
A Jones Funeral Directors of Seagraves. Pat was born on January 2,
1940 in Corpus Christi. He moved to Seagraves from Wink, Texas when he
was an infant. His dad, L.M. and mother, Martha purchased the local
Chevrolet dealership. Pat later became a partner and co-owner of the
dealership until his dad passed away in May of 1987. Pat attended
school in Seagraves and graduated as Class President in 1958. He
graduated Texas Christian University in 1962. He was a member of the
Sigma Chi fraternity and very proud of the fact that his son, Rick,
attended his alma mater and pledged his fraternity in 1984. On September
9, 1962 he married the love of his life Carolyn Smith in Seagraves at
the First United Methodist Church. Pat was loyal to Seagraves and its
residents. He served as Mayor from 1988 to June, 2006, when he retired.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Seagraves and
taught Sunday school for many years. He served on the Seagraves First
State Bank Board and served as a member and past chairman of the Permian
Basin Regional Planning Commission and council of government covering a
seventeen county area of the Permian Basin made up of fourteen county
judges and four mayors from this area. Pat was also a member of the
Rotary Club “Paul Harris Fellow” and has served as an officer of the
local club for many years. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of the
home. 1 Son Rick and wife Kristen of Fort Worth and 1 Daughter, Monica
McCormick and husband Steve of Seagraves. He also leaves 5
Grandchildren, Allison and Mitchell McCormick and Patrick III, Adam and
Erin. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 Grandson,
Stephen McCormick, Jr. |
| Moore, Robert Ross |
Robert Ross Moore, 56, of Lubbock died 14 November 2007 in Lubbock.
Born 1 February 1951 to Burton Ross Moore and Wardine Clearman Moore in
Seminole. Married Debbie Hooker in 1974 in Amarillo, Texas.
Survived by his wife, son Jason Moore and wife Denise of Lubbock;
daughter Jennifer Moore Scott and husband Brandon of Guatemala; mother
Wardine; brother Richard Moore and wife Pam of Tyler, Texas; three
grandchildren, Avery, Garret, Deacon and one on the way. Graveside
services Saturday, 17 November at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Peggy Ruth Savell died Tuesday, 28 August 2007 in Lubbock.
Born in Abilene, Texas 20 October 1942; daughter of Ima Gene Thomas and
Albert James Savell. Graduated from Seminole High School; received
LVN training at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. Survived by mother
Ima Gene Savell of Abilene; sister Shirley Hayes of Abilene; brothers
Edward Lee Savell of Fredericksburg, Texas, and Jimmy Ray Savell and
wife Linda of Denver, Colorado; several nieces and nephews; longtime
friend Sharon "Skeet" McWhorter of Lubbock. Preceded in death by
her husband, Jim Savell; grandmother, Johnnie Thomas; brother-in-law,
John Clifton Hayes, Jr.; great-nephew Christopher Eastman. Funeral
services at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, 1 September 2007 at Elliott-Hamil
Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Abilene. Burial in Cedar Hill
Cemetery. |

Virla Selman, 78 of Seagraves died Wednesday, 21 March 2007 in
Lubbock. Services at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, 24 March 2007 in First
Assembly of God Church in Seagraves. Interment at 2:00 p.m.
Mountain Time at Tatum Cemetery in Tatum, New Mexico. Born 27
October 1928 to Rafael Curtis Norris and Rosa Bell Brooks in Lubbock
County. Married Alva M. Selman 7 October 1944. Both
graduated as Ordained Ministers from L. I. F. E. Bible College in Los
Angeles, California in 1955. Built and pastored Foursquare Gospel
Church in Roswell, New Mexico. Owned and operated Virla's Beauty
Shop in Seagraves. Member of First Assembly of God Church in
Seagraves. Survivors: Daughter, Rita Langehennig and husband
Lonny of Lubbock; brother Delbert Norris and wife Nona Lee of Little
Rock, Arkansas; four grandsons; seven grandchildren. Preceded in
death by her parents; husband; daughter Ronda Bittle; one brother and
five sisters. Services provided by Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors
of Seagraves. |
| Thiessen, Peter |
Funeral services for Peter Thiessen, age 36, of Lubbock and formerly
of Seminole, will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at
Gospel Mennonite Church with Rev. John Penner officiating. Burial
will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services will be under
the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole. Mr. Thiessen
passed away Sunday, February 25, 2007 at his residence following a
sudden illness. He was born April 22, 1970 to Frank and Maria
Thiessen in Mexico. He had been a resident of Lubbock for ten
years, having moved from Seminole in 1997. He worked as a
contractor and was a member of the Gospel Mennonite Church. He was
a loving son, brother, uncle and most of all a loving father.
Survivors include parents, Frank and Maria Thiessen of Seminole; one
daughter Chelsea Thiessen of Seminole; three brothers, David Thiessen of
Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Frank Thiessen of Memphis, Texas and Aron
Thiessen of Lubbock, Texas; four sisters, Margie Fehr, Mary Padilla,
Helen Rivas and Annie Neufeld, all of Seminole; twenty-five nieces and
nephews. |
| Williams, Clifford E. "Bill" |
Clifford E. "Bill Williams, 91, of Seagraves passed away on
Saturday, September 15, 2007, in Big Springs. Services at 10:00
a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2007, First Baptist Church in Seagraves.
Military Rites in Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves. Services
provided by Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors of Seagraves. Born
April 7, 1916 to William and Ada Williams in Mountalba, Anderson County,
Texas. Moved to Acuff Community in Lubbock County in 1916 and then
to Lynn County in 1922. Attended Slaton Schools and graduated from
Slayton High in 1934. Served in 7th Calvary in mid 1930's and U.
S. Army Air Force from 1942 to 1946. Moved to Terry County in
1946; farming and cotton buyer from 1949 to 1991. Married Nancy
Callaway on 28 February 1974 in Fort Worth. Retired and moved to
Fort Worth in 1991. Moved to Seagraves in 1995. Member of
the Air Force Association, the Navy League, United Commercial Travelers,
American Legion and Confederate Air Force. Member of First Baptist
Church in Seagraves. Survived by his wife; son Andy Williams of
Midland; daughter Pamela Ham of Bentonville, Arkansas; eight
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by daughter Gina McKinzie in 2000. |

Jettie Yocom, 85, of Seminole, died Monday, 16 April 1007.
Survived by sons Garrion Yocom and wife Cathy of Seagraves, Larry Yocom
and wife JoAnn of Midland and Danny Yocom and wife Pam of Loop; nine
grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by
husband Chester Yocom in November 1984; parents Ed and Stella Williams;
seven sisters; two brothers. Services under the direction of Mark
A. Jones Funeral Directors of Seagraves. Services 2:00 p.m.
Friday, 20 April 2007 in First Baptist Church of Loop; interment at
Gaines County Cemetery in Loop. |
