MEMBERSHIP

                                       Membership is open to all persons with an interest in genealogy.
                                                      Annual dues, payable in May, are as follows:
                                                      Standard Annual Dues - $7.00 per person, or $10.00 per couple
                                                      Contributor - $15.00
                                                      Patron - $20.00
                                                      Life-time membership is $73.50

MEETINGS

Meetings are held September through May on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
The meeting place is the Wortham Auditorium of the Rosenberg Library, 2310 Sealy, Galveston, Texas

4. Early Death and Legal Records From Joseph Franklin's Diary and John Griffin's Sexton Records - Published 1990by the Galveston County Genealogical Society, it is 254 pages not including the index.
        The first part of the book is devoted to Joseph Franklin's two-volume manuscript (79-0035). They include the years 1828 (while Texas was a Republic) to 1908. Joseph Franklin was a lawyer from 17 March 1879 until his death, at the age of 76, on 18 November 1908, buried in Galveston, TX. The type of record he recorded in his personal diaries are death, power of attorney, and general information.
        The second part of the book is in the manuscript file entitled "Galveton City Sexton" (52-003-52-0121) and covers the years 1847 though 1851. There are eighty-eight items in this manuscript and they include scattered burial records reported by City Sexton John Griffin.
        There is an each name index.
