All events
are 1-3 PM at the Bear Creek Community
Center unless otherwise noted. For events held at the center, there is an
optional lunch at the nearby Omni Hotel
Westside at 11 AM.

Kaufman, Manager of Clayton Library, "PERSI: The Periodical Source
Index."
October
October 8, 2009 Mick Stafford,
Director Lone Star College CyFair Library, "Online Genealogy." This meeting
will be held at Lone Star
College CyFair in room Library 203, the second floor computer lab inside the
library. Transportation from Bear Creek Community Center will not be provided.
There will be no lunch at the Omni Hotel. The meeting will be from 1 to 3 PM
as usual.
November
November 12, 2009 Bus trip to
Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research. We will meet at the Bear
Creek Community Center at 8:30 AM and return to the center around 4 PM. Please
sign up at a regular meeting or contact a society member. Note that there are no
restaurants near the library and that the vending machines there are rather
grim. Bring your own lunch or be prepared to walk several blocks.
Our
visit will include presentations on funerals and on the new connection to the
Family History Library
December
December 10, 2009 Holiday party
at Bear Creek Community Center, details to be announced. Gary Tober, President
Bear Creek Genealogical Society & Library, will speak on "Ethnic genealogy -
doing it in depth using handy resources ." There will be no lunch at the Omni,
as we will have food at the meeting.
January
January 14, 2010 Lynwood
Peterson, Former President Chaparral Genealogical Society, "American Migration
Routes." Form nominating committees for 2010-11 officers.
February
February 11, 2010
Bus trip to Richmond, Texas. We will begin with a tour of the
Fort Bend Museum, with history back to the Stephen Austin period.
After lunch in town, we will bus to the George Memorial Library, where
Daniel Sample, head of the Genealogy and Local History Department, will
give as an orientation. We will have time to look at the genealogical
collection, which specializes in southeastern U.S. Meet at Bear Creek
Community Center at 8:30 AM. We should return to the Center around 4
PM.
March
March
11, 2010 Speed genealogy. We will have separate tables for
discussion of various topics such as European research, message boards,
favorite web sites, genealogical challenges, and DNA. Attendees
should visit several tables during the meeting.
April
April 8, 2010 Bus trip to

Creek Community Center at 8:30 AM and return to the center around 4 PM. Please contact Betty Bond or Alan Leeds if you have not yet signed up. No lunch at the Omni Hotel.
