Texas Mailing Lists: Subscribing

COUNTY MAILING LISTS AT ROOTSWEB

Descriptions of each of these county mailing lists may be found at http://members.aol.com/gfsjohnf/gen_mail_states-tx.html.

There are two versions of each list to choose from:

  • The list form, maillist-l, is for individual messages to be delivered to your e-mail address. As each subscriber to the list sends messages to the list address, you will receive a copy of the message. To subscribe send an e-mail message to: list with one word in the body of the message: subscribe or use the subscription form.
  • The digest form, list-d, is for a digest of several accumulated messages to be delivered to your email address. As each subscriber to the list sends messages to the list address, they are put into a digest to be delivered later. The digest is generated approximately once a day and delivered to digest subscribers. This option is handy for people who don't want multiple messages to accumulate in their mail box. To subscribe send an email message to: list-d-request with one word in the body of the message: subscribe or use the subscription form.

Once your subscription request has been processed by the SmartList server at Rootsweb, you will receive a welcome note with instructions on how to post messages to the list, how to unsubscribe, and how to contact the list owner if you have any problems.
