LinkPendium is being developed by Karen Isaacson and Brian Leverich,
founders of the extremely popular "RootsWeb" genealogical community site.
At the time of its merger with "Ancestry" in June 2000, RootsWeb had about
600,000 registered users, was serving about 100,000,000 Web page
views monthly, and was delivering about 160,000,000 pieces of email
monthly to the subscribers of its 18,000 mailing lists. The company had
more than 40 employees and operated its own 7,000 square foot

Biographical Souvenir of Texas
Just letting y'all know that I loaded the Biographical Souvenir of Texas
to my site and a volunteer made a full name index! I was astonished at
all the work she did. This book is familiar probably to most of you, I
don't think there is very much from far far south Texas or far west but
east/north and much of central Texas people are included. It was
published in 1889.and is some 944 pages of biographical info.

Thanks to:
Trey Holt, a new fantastic web site that he would say
ranks just below the Handbook of Texas in
reference links for all Texas researchers.
The site is a project of the University of North Texas Libraries. Gammel's The Laws of Texas
The laws in these books affected the lives of all of our ancestors. You will find the laws listed that
established your counties, abolished your counties, and changed the name of your counties. There
are also many names, incorporations of clubs, businesses, and cities, special pension
authorizations, etc. Basically if it had to be approved or established by the government you will
find it here. Texas Maps
Texas Cemeteries Directory shows over 21,000 cemeteries found on line with
information about where each one was found in an easy to use format
.
The directory includes information about those cemeteries that have been inventoried and where
to find them.
In addition the web site hosts the list of cemeteries which have reached the protected status of
"Historic Texas Cemetery" designation, whose program was developed by "The Texas Historical
Commission".
There also is a special page where those who have labored to write books about cemeteries can
announce the availability of those books, sell the books, buy a book, or trade them.
While you're there leave a message about a neglected cemetery in the guest book.
These posts are followed up on by the folks at "Save Texas Cemeteries" and the folks who
manage the "Historic Texas Cemetery" designation program.
For this information we thank Gwen Boucher.

and where he/she died. Their response will also tell you how to get a death certificate.

National Archives, Washington, Research
I can provide service to those who would like such information (copies of available original
documents, records, or otherwise) at reasonable rates as I live in Washington, DC and have ready
access to information in the U.S. National Archives, much of which is not available in county,
state, or even regional national archives.
There are no legal concerns about copyrighted material because the information in the
National Archives is in the public domain for all the American people.
